Terms of Service

Heroes 2 Online is a free, non-commercial fan project that lets you play Heroes of Might and Magic II in your browser. It has no ads and nothing to buy. Its rules are ported from fheroes2, the open-source Heroes II engine.

It is unofficial: it is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Ubisoft. Heroes of Might and Magic is a trademark of its owner, and the game's art, music and names belong to their owners. If you hold rights in the game and want something changed, write to support@heroes2online.com. If you enjoy the game, buy the original on GOG.

By making an account or playing, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Heroes 2 Online is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It is still being built: rules, features and the look of the game change, and an update can end or remove matches in progress. The game may be down at times, and we may pause or close it for good. We will try to give notice first, but we can't promise to.

• One account per person, and one person per account: don't share it or use someone else's.
• You must be old enough (see the Privacy Policy) and use an email address that is yours.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what is done with your account; tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
• Your display name must not be offensive, or pretend to be another player, a moderator or the project. We may change a name that is.

• Play your own games yourself. No bots, scripts or programs that play or decide for you.
• Don't exploit bugs. If you find one, especially one that gives an advantage, report it to support@heroes2online.com.
• Don't manipulate ratings: no second accounts, arranged results, or losing on purpose to move someone's rating.
• Don't attack or overload the service, or try to reach data that isn't yours.

Be decent to the people you play and talk with. In chat, no:

• harassment, threats or bullying;
• hate speech or slurs;
• spam, advertising or flooding;
• impersonating another player, a moderator or the project;
• sharing someone else's personal information, or anything illegal.

You can block any player and report any message you can see.

Our volunteer moderators may delete messages, mute an account's chat for a time, rename an account, end a match, and suspend or ban an account that breaks these terms. We try to be fair and in proportion. If you think a decision was wrong, write to support@heroes2online.com.

You are responsible for what you write in chat and for the maps you upload. You keep whatever rights you have in them, and let us store, show and send them as the game needs. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or the law. Direct messages stay between their two players unless one of them reports them.

The community maps in the game belong to their authors, who are credited beside each map. If you made one and want it removed, or credited differently, write to support@heroes2online.com and we will do it.

You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or close the service entirely.

Heroes 2 Online is free and run by volunteers. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, including lost matches, ratings or data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited, such as consumer rights where you live.

We may change these terms. We update this page and its date, and announce significant changes on the site. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, stop playing and ask us to delete your account.
